Yup! Of a place called Radiant Garden.

It sounds like a lovely place just by name alone. Are you a knight, or just someone who lives in her kingdom?

Ahhh, no--! I'm just Sora. I can use a keyblade so I do know how to fight and protect people, though? That counts, right!

Kairi is the princess of Radiant Garden but we grew up together on an island called Destiny Islands. She lost her memory when she was pretty small so we didn't know she was a princess until pretty recently.

I would say it counts if you protect a princess.

It's sad to hear she lost her memories, but I'm sure that doesn't matter as much as the ones you've made with her. I'm sure she appreciates you for your kindness.

Yeah. We all grew up together so I'd say she wasn't unhappy growing up or anything like that. We've always been together even after she found out where she was actually from.

Good friends should stick close together, regardless of circumstance. The status of one's nobility shouldn't change anything between you two, and I'm glad that doesn't seem to be the case.

[ it wasn't always the case for her, as rarely she made a friend outside her castle walls, but that isn't appropriate to bring up. kairi has a good friend in sora. ]

Do you know if by any chance you have a secret to your own past? It may be presumptuous, but it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for you two to be connected more than you think.

Definately. Just because she's a princess doesn't mean I'd treat her any different. She's my best friend.

And a secret to my own past?? Nah, I don't think so? Ummmm...! Well, our hearts are connected. I saved her from dying once and to keep her heart safe I protected it with mine. Is that what you mean?

[He sure did stab his own heart through with a sword just to save her.]

I mean more in origin. If she forgot something, perhaps you did too? It's just a stray thought, but these things are often connected through a tapestry of destiny and fate. Your sacrifice to her reminds me a lot of my knight's to mine.

I hope so. If we're connected by destiny that would be pretty amazing.

All things are, in their own ways. It just isn't always clear to us what's meant to be until the moment comes and goes.

Is there someone you think your destiny is tied to, Zelda?

[ she doesn't respond immediately, pondering how much she should really say, but... it doesn't matter does it? their destiny has been fulfilled, so there's no chance of cursing it. or rather, no point in being so cagey. ]

My knight - Link. He and I are bound together by a prophecy forged by our ancestors from 10,000 years ago. But our battle is over now.

Wow... 10,000 years?? If he's a great as you are I'd love to meet him someday. That's really amazing, Zelda.
